  • http://www.loc.gov/today/cyberlc/index.php Library of Congress webcasts, link on left connect to other digital resources including SONIC, the Sound ONline Inventory and Catalog for the Library of Congress Audio Collection

 

  • http://www.audiobooks.org/ Audiobooks provides some classics for free, as well as providing access to subscriptions through iTunes.

 

 

  • http://www.audible.com Audible Books The site has a number of old and new books available. Possible to buy books individually or through a subscription plan.

 

  • http://www.learnoutloud.com/Free-Audio-Video This directory features free audio books, lectures, speeches, sermons, interviews, and many other audio and video resources. Most audio titles can be downloaded in digital formats such as MP3 and most video titles are available to stream online.

 

  • http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ iTunes through the "music store" you can locate audiobooks and podcasts from the main menu. You can find a sub-category of education-related podcasts under --> podcasts --> education. Keep an eye out: iTunesU is coming soon

 

  • http://librivox.org/ LibriVox The site has free audio books that are chosen, recorded and proofed by volunteers. Their goal is to make all books in the public domain available free in audio format on the web. The site includes books, poems and short works. You can download individual chapters or stream online. This is an incredible resource and project.

  • http://www.npr.org/rss/podcast.php?id=1032 - Here is a podcast series from NPR featuring book reviews, news, and author interviews from several different NPR shows including All Things Considered and Morning Edition.

 

 

 

  • http://www.npr.org/rss/podcast.php?id=1032 Book Matters: A series of recent podcasts from NPR which features book reviews, and interviews with authors. There are also items on current issues in the book world, such as instances of recent plagiarism and a lawsuit over choice of books in schools.
