Welcome to the Podcast Resources Collaborative Wiki !
This wiki was created in an attempt to facilitate collaboration in compiling reference-quality podcast resources for use by several types of libraries. The wiki has been set up with pages devoted to general topics; feel free to add more topics and/or sub-pages, using the wiki-wide-PW: collabor8. If this collaborative effort at sharing resources grows to the point where we need mulitple wikis for different types of libraries, all the better!

Podcasts & Streaming Media
General News Primarily from Public Broadcasting
Multidisciplinary Sites from Organizations/Institutions that offer a variety of reference-quality multimedia resources across disciplines
Business This is a broad category page now, if enough resources are compiled they can be broken up into subsections or even dedicated pages.
Education K-12, Higher ed and beyond. The resources compiled here geared primarily towards teachers.
- Language Instruction Podcasting lends itself nicely to learning a language (whether one wants to know more about his own language, or picking up/improving her knowledge of a secondary, foreign language).
Entertainment Various forms. Of course podcasting is closely related to music distribution in general and a new way to distribute audio-books as well, so we have created dedicated pages for those resources
Health Currently geared toward the non-health professional -- to facilitate "health literacy," if a brave soul can find some professional development podcast for health professionals, go to town!!
Museums & Culture Various museum and cultural web sites that include podcasts.
Political Science This is also a broad category page now, covering law and government resources at all levels of government, with legislation, judiciary, and analysis of same. Again, if the resources become too numerous, they can be broken up into different pages.
LIS & Library Professional Development Geared towards both fledgling and long-practicing librarians. To inspire and inform!!
Religion & Theology A trend in podcasting, known as "godcasts"
Science A combination of resources for both non-scientists -- to facilitate "scientific literacy" -- and science-professionals who teach and practice
Travel Guides Many cities and countries are now offering Tours/Guides for out-of-towners or the adventurous local. Right now, podcasts are mainly about New York, but other cities and destinations are welcome!
